Ideas, observations and practical frameworks for setting goals, making better decisions, creating more options — and making progress toward the life you actually want.
Created by Cynthia D after twenty years observing founders, investors, executives, athletes, and other highly accomplished people — The Owner’s Mind exists to translate what actually works into ideas everyday people can use.
Get honest about what you actually want — not what you were told to want. Ownership begins the moment you stop drifting.
Borrow the questions high achievers ask about time, risk, opportunity, and setbacks — and apply them to the choices in front of you.
Move from planning to doing. Small, deliberate steps that compound into a life that feels right for you.
The Owner’s Mind translates what highly effective people do into practical ideas everyday readers can borrow — for setting goals, thinking through decisions, and creating options in their own life.

Anyone working toward something that matters to them — personally, professionally, creatively, financially or otherwise.
Not at all. Ownership here means taking agency over your life — deciding what you want and taking responsibility for what you can do next.
Observations, ideas and practical frameworks gathered from 20+ years of watching how people set goals, solve problems, make decisions and get where they want to go.
Every quarter, I give $1,000 to someone investing in themselves and taking action toward something that matters to them.
No. Think of it more as part mentorship, part community — a place to learn, think, apply what’s useful and connect with other people building their own path.
Join The Owner’s Mind to get new writing, ideas and updates by email and be part of what we’re building.
For more than 20 years, my career has put me in rooms with founders, investors, executives and people who had accomplished extraordinary things in very different areas of their lives.
I wasn’t there to study them. I was doing my job. But over time, I started noticing patterns in how they set goals, made decisions, approached risk and opportunity, and got where they wanted to go.
What stood out most was a sense of ownership — they saw their lives as something they could actively shape rather than simply react to.
I began applying those lessons to my own life, keeping the ideas, questions and frameworks I found genuinely useful.
The Owner’s Mind is where I share what I’ve learned — so you can use what’s useful to build more of the life you want.
